Coin Drive
Our school is participating in a coin drive called the All for Books Coin-a-day Challenge.
Our school will use the donations to purchase books for the Adams Library.
Children can bring in change to the containers in their classroom, or the lobby. There will be a goal chart in the lobby with updated daily totals!
• Penny Monday-Oct 21st
• Nickel Tuesday-Oct 22nd
• Dime Wednesday-Oct 23rd
• Quarter Thursday-Oct 24th
• Any Coin or Bill Friday-Oct 25th
If you have loose coins hiding under couch cushions, floor mats, in pants pockets, or the bottom of your bag, put them to good use by giving students more access to books they’ll love to read! We will continue to collect money for our All for Books campaign, throughout the Book Fair.
Scholastic will match the money we raise and donate books to kids in need!
Staff Appreciation
Fall conferences are coming—and that means our first Staff Appreciation event is, too! We have a lot planned for the week, so please take a minute to look through all of the available spots to help us show the Adams staff how much we appreciate them! https://signup.com/go/KXdPiUF

Pe and wellness news
PE NEWS:
Every class had experience with the PACER. It's an aerobic capacity test that starts slowly and gradually becomes more difficult. Students shuttle back and forth across 20 meters following the beeps on a CD tract. For K-2 students, we do the PACER for the experience, because it is a great exercise, and it teaches them to feel confident about their efforts. For students 3-5, students start tracking their accomplishments and improvements. We do an official PACER 3-4 times a year, but we practice informally about once a month. Your child's teacher sent home their recent PACER score, or they are saving it for conferences. Students also did a Tabata-style exercise, 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off, through a series of different challenges. Grades 3-5 played a chase game called "Odd Person Out" and throw/catch game called "Toss Three." Students in K-2 played "Caution Tag Stomp" and a milder version of "Toss Three."
WELLNESS NEWS:
Congrats to the Adams students who participated in the Cheldelin Cougar Classic Elementary Mile on 10/17. Congrats to the entire Adams community for taking on the 12th Annual Autumn Amble on Friday the 18th. Next Thursday, the 24th, is Open Gym/Open Hallways. The entire school is open for play, including the hallways. Join in the fun AND visit the Book Fair's opening night. The 24th will also be the first AIM Class Challenge to see which class can have the most participants on the AIM path. Plan ahead: the week of January 13-17 is Bring Your Parents to PE Week. Join your child during PE class and have some fun.

If your package has a traditional Box Top clip, cut it off and send it into school.
If your package has a Scan Your Receipt Box Top, download the free Box Tops for Education App, set your school for Adams Elementary School, and scan your grocery receipts. It's fast and easy!
