A Note from the Principal
Greetings Central Families!
This week was "Championship Week" at Central. We hosted the Division 1 Football State Championship trophy. Students were so excited to be able to feel a part of something so big.
The trophy traveled to our gym where Mr. Rutkowski used it during his lessons in physical education about good sportsmanship and teamwork. Students learned the importance of following Cardinal Code on and off athletic fields and Cardinal Code's role in becoming a champion.
On Friday, we had the opportunity to host a few of the football players along with Coach Weingartz and our Athletic Director, Mr. Beamer. We invited them to our All School Family Meeting. Our meeting focused on creating a growth mindset so we continue to get better at the things we are working on. Students learned that it takes practice, hard work, teamwork and grit to achieve goals and become champions. We have champion readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, artists, performers, and athletes at Central. It isn't always about winning. It's about setting goals and improving each and every day.
Students also had the opportunity to participate in our meeting by asking the high school football players great questions. The players and coaches did a wonderful job answering the student questions at a level that our students could understand. What an incredible experience for all involved! I am proud to be a Davison Cardinal!
