Hunting Ridge Hawk Happenings

October 2, 2020

Welcome

Hunting Ridge Families:

Welcome Madeline Ostoich to our staff. She is helping our school nurse in the protected health space. Thank you to the PTA for Hawk Hustle and the beautiful pots that decorate our entryways. We are definitely seeing the change in the seasons. With that comes planning for Halloween. This year because of additional guidelines for safety there will be no planned parties or parades. Instead, teachers may choose class activities. As a school we are looking at planning for a spirit day or week to make that time special. More details will come as our teams plan.

Our first Picture Day is scheduled for October 6, 2020. Please see below for details.

We thank families for all of their continued support to make ALL Hunting Ridge learners have a successful learning experience.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Ortlund

Important Dates:

  • October 6, October 21 Picture Day opportunities

Picture Days

Our PTA has coordinated opportunities for Picture Day in partnership with our photography company, Inter-State Studio. Our focus is to make this a safe option should parents choose.

Orders can be placed online using the following link: https://inter-state.com/FlyerEntry/50492NA

Deadline to order is October 30th

If parents need a hard copy order form, please ask your student’s teacher to send one home via backpack mail.

SAFETY: All CCSD15 safety protocols for social distancing and masking will be followed. No class/group photos will be taken. Specifics on Inter-State Studio’s own safety measures can be found here: https://youtu.be/8IQaLz7LQ98

If your student(s) miss their planned picture day, an additional make-up date and/or an electronic submission process will be made available later this school year so all students can be included in the yearbook.

Photography tents will be set-up outside for Picture Day along our lower blacktop area. Tent 1 will be used for in-person students. Tent 2 will be used for virtual students. Parents of virtual students, please make appointments for all of the children in your family for one of those dates.

October 6:

  • In-person students in grades K-4 have a class time when their picture will be taken.
  • Virtual families K-6 will make an appointment through a sign-up survey. Parents will enter through the Door #2 driveway and be guided to their photo tent. Parents will stay in the car. Students will exit on the passenger side of the car, go to the tent, get their picture taken, and return to the car. We need to keep this line moving so that other families can have their time slot.

October 21:

  • In-person students grades 5-6 have a class time when their picture will be taken.

New School Year Health Forms and Health Documents:

As a gentle reminder, students that are entering kindergarten or sixth grade have specific physical, dental, and/or vision requirements. Please see the Health Documents link to our D15 website and consider scheduling these appointments before the new school year begins. All medications that are kept on site must be accompanied by a physician's order. Over the counter medications must be provided by the parent or guardian in an unopened box. As students return to school for in-person learning, these medications can be dropped off to the nurse.
