News from this week
Dear Parents,
I apologize for sending this week's newsletter out so late. I was out on Friday and had a very busy weekend.
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for the Friends and Family Lunch. I hope you enjoyed your time at school with your child! I know the students all enjoyed having you join them and their friends for lunch! They also enjoyed all of the valentines and treats that were sent in.
I look forward to meeting with all of you next week to discuss your child's progress. The Celebration Conferences are on Wednesday from 3:00-5:30. If you scheduled an individual conference, I will send home the schedule on Tuesday. Early Release days are Wednesday and Thursday with dismissal at 12:15. We DO have school on Friday. This is one of our Hurricane Irma make up days.
We will be having our Westward Expansion test this Wednesday, Feb. 21, so please help your child study for it. There is a lot of information that we covered in this unit. There is a powerpoint and review material on my website to help. The students should also be bringing home their Social Studies journals each night as well.
Speaking of notebooks, we have taken so many notes in Social Studies this year that many of the students are running out of pages in their notebooks. Instead of going out to buy a new notebook, I have told the students to look for old composition notebooks that they may have used in past grades that may not be full. They can tear out the old pages and use the good pages left. I know I have several from my own children where not even half of the notebook was used. These old notebooks are perfect for your child to use to finish out the year in Social Studies. We have 3 more units to cover, so we definitely need more pages to fill!
The last day for donations for "Jump Rope for the Heart" is February 23rd. Students really enjoyed this last year!
Be sure to read important information regarding STEAM Night below! Registration is only taking place on line this year.
Have a good week!
