From the Principal

Welcome to our first edition of the Summer 2019 Ferson Creek eNews! I officially started at Ferson Creek on July 1st. I've spent the first few weeks getting settled into the office, meeting with staff members, and planning for the upcoming school year. It has been wonderful getting to meet families as they have stopped in the office this summer. I am looking forward to our Welcome Event and Supply Drop Off so that I can connect with even more students and families. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Early next week you should receive our summer mailing for the 2019-2020 school year via the USPS. The contents of the mailing are as follows:


  • Welcome letter from Mrs. McKnight, Principal

    • Directions for accessing class assignments on August 5th

    • Welcome Event & Supply Drop-Off information

    • Directions for accessing transportation routes just prior to the first day of school

Our PTO has teamed up with School Tool Box to give you the option of purchasing prepacked school supplies for the 2019-2020 school year. Place an order and the supplies will be delivered directly to your home address. You have the option to customize your order by adding or removing items from the teacher approved list. With every box sold, School Tool Box will provide a meal to a child in need through Feed My Starving Children.

Around the Building

We would like to welcome a few new staff members to the building for the upcoming school year. We are thrilled to have them join the Ferson community!


  • Amy Ellis will be joining us as our 10-month Administrative Assistant
  • Mallory McCool is our new 1st grade team member
  • Sonia Cooper will be our school psychologist


Summer cleaning is in full swing! If you were to see our hallways, you would notice that they are packed full of furniture so that our floors can be made shiny again for the start of the school year. The building will be ready to go for Welcome Back day!

  • Friday, August 30th – ½ day Institute Day

    • Elementary School Dismissal at 11:40 am
