Walk & Talk Friday

Thank you for a successful walk and talk this past Friday. The students enjoyed getting outdoors. This provided our students with recognition for their academic success and good attendance. Thank you, again!

Instructional Focus for the next 19 days

We are only 19 days away from the GMAS assessment (Milestones). The next 19 days will be critical for delivering differentiated, small group instruction to our students. Continue to collaborate with your team to design spiral activities and small group instruction. Students can be in a small collaborative group viewing a short video in eClass on a prior concept. Then, complete an activity while you are pulling a small group to continue moving forward on the curriculum map. The GMAS study guide on the training page offers a few resources. If you would like support in planning your gradual release lessons, please let me know.

GMAS Testing Weeks

During our GMAS testing weeks, visitors will not be allowed to visit classrooms or eat lunch in the cafeteria. Please make sure you are communicating this with your parents. It will also be important to post the dates/times your homeroom is testing to ensure parents are not arriving to check out students during a testing window.

The schedule for GMAS changes almost daily due to your testing session. Sometimes you will have connections in the AM, if you are testing in the PM. It will be critical for everyone to have their schedule posted and available.

Since we are doing the GMAS online, we will have two testing sessions per day. Therefore, ALL transitions must be silent. We will have hallway monitors, but we need your help.

We recommend you meet your homeroom in the testing room if you have an AM session.

Team Absences

We are at a critical level with our substitutes and providing quality instruction to our students during an absence. Please monitor your AESOP request to see if a substitute has accepted the job. We appreciate your help with this process.

Relay for Life Team

Please consider joining our team! When you register and donate at least $20 to the team, you will receive four jean coupons! Ms. Warren is our captain and has several ideas for our fundraisers. Begin thinking about who you would like to recognize!

Each month, we will recognize team members who exhibit the pillars of Jordan MS: Community, Leadership, and Excellence! Teams can submit up to three names each month. Please include a brief narrative describing how the team member exemplified community, leadership, or excellence. We will celebrate during our vertical team meetings on Fridays!
