Parents
Letter from President of Booster Club
Dear Parents:
As you all are aware, we asked Lisa Berry, the VP of Volunteers, to prepare a volunteer schedule for all of the home football games that included all of the parents of children that participate in any extracurricular activity at Reicher, which is basically everyone whether your child plays football, volleyball, cross country, cheerleading, jazz cats, soccer, softball, baseball, track, art, theater, robotics, TAPPS academic teams, or campus ministry. This past week however, we received several negative comments from parents, so we feel the need to explain the situation in more detail.
All of the programs listed above are financially supported by the Booster Club. The rationale behind us asking the help of all parents has absolutely nothing to do with a greater appreciation or emphasis on football or its players. As I am sure all of you can appreciate and understand, our school makes more money and requires more manpower at football games than any other sport or activity we have. The money earned does not go to only supporting the football program but all of our extracurricular activities at Reicher. For example, and just to name a few things that you all might not even be aware of unless you regularly attend our Booster Club meetings, which we strongly encourage you to do, we buy bibles for every Senior at graduation, we bought carts needed by the Art Department last year, we pay the TAPPS fees for our academic teams to compete each year and the list goes on and on.
This issue really relates to where our money is made for the benefit of the entire school. To ensure that we have these funds available, we have to utilize all the parents during this particular time of year. Since these funds go to support all the programs and not just football, we don't think it unreasonable to ask everyone to participate in our efforts on Thursday and Friday nights. While we wish that the gate and concession from each individual sport for example supported all the expenses of that sport or activity, they just don't bring in enough to cover the expenses for coaches, referees, equipment, uniforms, etc. Furthermore, I am almost certain that no one was asked to serve more than once or twice throughout football season.
Therefore, if you cannot serve your designated time, please try to locate your own replacement but if you can't, reach out to Lisa Berry and ask for her assistance in locating someone else to cover the spot, but remember, you likely will be plugged in again, somewhere else. We try to provide a first class program for all of our extracurricular activities, but in order to do that, we have to have funding and manpower to accomplish this. Being a private school, funding for all of our programs has to come from our efforts. Your cooperation in this regard would be appreciated. And please remember, Lisa Berry is merely a volunteer herself and no one should ever be disrespectful to her as she is simply fulfilling the duties of the office that she generously agreed to take on. Additionally, if anyone has any complaints or compliments, please feel free to reach out to me at the number below.
Thank you so much for your support of our wonderful school!

Friends of St. Louis-Reicher Pray the Rosary
Parents and other friends of St. Louis-Reicher are invited to pray the Rosary together in our chapel. There will be two opportunities every week, Tuesdays on the St. Louis campus and Wednesdays on the Reicher campus, to join others in praying the rosary for our school. We began this week and are looking forward to continuing this beautiful group prayer for the rest of the year.
We would love for anyone to join us. Even if you unfamiliar with praying the Rosary. We are happy to acquaint you with it. Parents should drop off their students as usual, then proceed to park in the front of the school, sign in and go to the chapel. We will be praying the Rosary for the success and safety of our children, for the school and the staff, and any other personal intentions parents wish to share.
Thank you to Mrs. Liz DeLaRosa for organizing this wonderful opportunity.
Kids' Grief Workshop
Providence Hospice is having a Kids' Grief Workshop on Saturday, September 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is a workshop for children and teens ages 5-18 who have suffered a significant loss. This might be loss from death, loss from incarceration, or loss from divorce. Throughout the day, we will have games, activities, crafts, discussions, and a short memorial service for the kids and teens.
