We are well into summer and a beautiful one at that. For some of us that means vacations, eating out, and being off our regular routine. So...how do we stay fit and on track even when we are off our normal schedule?
A couple suggestions:
Nutrition Tips when on vacation:
1. When eating out drink a large glass of water before your meal. It will fill you up so when the meal comes you tend not to eat as much.
2. Ask for a side plate and when the meal comes, cut your portion in half and put the left over in a to go box.
3. Split an appetizer and main dish with your partner. This way you get to enjoy your meal but not over-eat.
4. Choose a wine spritzer rather than a full glass of wine-it cuts down on calories and sugar intake. (wine has allot of sugar).mal schedule?
Fitness Tips when on vacation:
1. If you have the option to choose a hotel with a workout facility that is always ideal. :)
2. Walking or hiking is a great way to stay in shape on vacation. It's a fun way to explore the area too.
3. Sit-up's, bridges and leg lifts can be done on any floor and are portable. 3-sets of 25 each take approxametly 15-20 minutes and keeps you toned.

Express gratitude. Gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what you have — from a roof over your head to good health to people who care about you. When you acknowledge the goodness in your life, you begin to recognize that the source of that goodness lies at least partially outside yourself. In this way, gratitude helps you connect to something larger than your individual experience — whether to other people, nature, or a higher power.
Set aside a few minutes every day and think about five large or small things you're grateful for. Write them down if you like. Be specific and remember what each thing means to you.
Leverage your strengths. To reap the benefits of your strengths, you first need to know what they are. If something comes easily, you may take it for granted and not identify it as a strength. Certain strengths are most closely linked to happiness.
Savor the "good." Most people are primed to experience the pleasure in special moments, like a wedding or a vacation. Everyday pleasures, on the other hand, can slip by without much notice. Savoring means placing your attention on pleasure as it occurs, consciously enjoying the experience as it unfolds. Appreciating the treasures in life, big and small, helps build happiness.

Happenings at the Studio
-Some of you may have met Julia our newest Trainer in training. Julia is apprenticing and will soon be on board. She has a background in competitive volleyball. She is currently attending SSU.
-I have been talking about incorporating workshops on positive thinking, stress management and manifesting your truest Hearts desire more fully into your life. I am on the home stretch...stayed tuned in August :)
-Hip/Hop for the kids is back starting in August.
