Lunch & Learn Series: Principal/Literacy Coach Relationships
Join MAISA and MEMSPA for this three part series and explore the relationship between coaches and principals that is critical in supporting teacher growth and student success facilitated by Sean LaRosa and Susan Townsend. School leaders can make or break a school’s culture of coaching. Being intentional and collaborating in focused ways will help you to maximize your coach's opportunities. During our time together we will dig into Essentials 1 and 4 of the MAISA, GELN Essential School-wide and Center-wide Practices in Literacy. Principals will engage in 1 hour of reflection and work in between sessions, identifying areas of strength and opportunities for growth.
This series will address the following Profession Standards for Educational Leaders: Professional Capacity of School Personnel and Professional Community for Teachers and Staff..
School leaders will develop an understanding of the literacy coach’s role and the importance of the administrator/coach relationship.
School leaders will develop an increased awareness of the Essential Instructional Practices in the Early Literacy School-wide and Center-wide Essentials, and their suite of tools, in their districts and schools.
School leaders will reflect and develop action plans around the development of the culture of coaching in their buildings
