Catholic Schools Week 2024
We have already planned a few Catholic Schools Week events you want to make sure to attend. First and foremost, is our Catholic Schools Week Mass on Saturday, January 27 at 4:00 pm.
Next, we will have a School Open House following Mass from 5:00-6:00 pm.
- Hot dogs will be available with a freewill offering for the Fondy Food Pantry. All students will have several projects on display for you to check out.
- Any Shepherd student who brings a friend or prospective family to Mass & Open House will receive an “Out of Uniform” pass. Help spread the word about our amazing school!
Finally, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting singer/songwriter and actress, Franki Moscato, on Wednesday, January 31.
CSW Mass 24
We will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week & Shepherd of the Hills Catholic School at the Saturday, January 27 4:00 pm Mass. Shepherd students, their families, alumni, and teachers will lead the Mass ministries. Please sign up for the Mass ministries using the link below.
We would appreciate any help from students, parents, and alumni. Thank you!
Franki Moscato Performance at Shepherd!
Franki appeared on the popular American Idol TV show in 2019 and won a golden ticket to perform. She travels around the country promoting her platform which includes "Be Kind," with a focus on anti-bullying, and teen suicide prevention. You can find more information at: https://frankijo.com/about/
All parents, grandparents, parishioners, and community members are invited to our school on Wednesday, January 31 to witness a stellar performance by Franki. She will have two different performances each geared toward specific age levels. At 9:30 am, 3K-3 students will hear and see Franki focus simply on examples of kindness and supporting music that encourage kids to be kind to those others who we know need it the most.
Then at 11:00 am, grades 4-8 will engage in a presentation that also includes kindness, but Franki will dive deeper and the conversation starts with anti-bullying, but infers suicide prevention.
This is a FREE event for all ages, both young and old. Bring your friends and family to an unforgettable morning at Shepherd!
Parents as Teachers Event
We are planning to bring back one of our most popular Catholic Schools Week events -- Parents As Teachers -- on Friday, February 2 from 1:00 - 2:40 pm. Do you have a talent, hobby, or something in your profession that would be fun to share with the students?
Plan for 3 sessions. Each session will last approx. 30 minutes with 5-10 students in each session.

We are looking for runners and coaches to help keep the Girls on the Run (GOTR) program at Shepherd of the Hills in 2024.
- Runners need to be in grades 3-8.
- Coaches themselves do NOT need to be runners (or parents of the girls on the team) but do need Safe Environment Training and to complete a short GOTR training in January.
- 2 coaches are needed for the 3-5 grade Girls on the Run program and 2 coaches are needed for the 6-8 grade Heart & Soul program.
- The 2024 Girls on the Run season is from the end of February to mid-May.

For taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 2014, a subtraction from income is allowed for the amount paid to send your dependent child to an eligible private school. The subtraction is limited to $4,000 for tuition paid for an elementary pupil and $10,000 for a secondary pupil.
