Data will be shared when iReady testing is complete.
Fifth grade students will perform above state average on the Science MAP test.
Water Bottles
1. The water bottle will stay here and only go home on Friday for cleaning.
2. If they ask for more than one, the teacher will call home and talk with parents about ensuring they are bringing their water bottle back to school each day.
We don't have enough water bottles to give students multiple water bottles. If there is an extreme issue where they continue to not bring one and you've contacted parents, with no solution, please let one of us know.
iReady Assessments Next Week
When students have completed their testing, they are able to begin use of their iReady license lessons. Remember, the lessons are to be completed by students during reading and math rounds.

iReady Diagnostic Testing Protocols and Resources
Reading and Math Diagnostic #1 Window: August 31st through September 11th
Students doing their best work is critical to ensure the lessons they work on are just right for them
The testing window opens on August 31st. Consider administering the ELA iReady on week 1 and Math iReady on Week 2 of the testing window. We should not be administering the two assessments on the same day or on two days back-to-back.
Establish a testing schedule that meets your students’ needs. Working on the test in short sessions is recommended:
K-1: 30-40 minutes total, 2-3 testing periods, 15-20 minutes each
Grades 2-8: 45-60 minutes total, 2 testing periods, 25-30 minutes each
First through fifth grades, please consider having individual data conversations with students to discuss Diagnostic #2 data from last January, and help students set effort goals. Refer to the Historical Report in iReady to view all previous iReady testing results.
The Data Chats can be quick this first time, but having them sets a positive tone, can increase student motivation, and the desire to do their best!
Pledge and effort rubrics
iReady effort rubric-feel free to make a copy and revise if needed
Also, we know how motivating it is to celebrate hard work and effort. Consider, maybe as a grade level, planning a brief incentive/celebration to honor students who worked hard, persevered, and gave it their all! Consider filling out positive office referrals, making parent phone calls, students of the day, etc…
Students have not taken the iReady Diagnostic since January, so you may wish to share a “training” video found in iReady Central.
Reading Videos
During the Math iReady, please expect students to use scrap paper or whiteboards to calculate and show their work.
Monitoring and walking about will help students stay focused and on task. It will also give you a glimpse of who is really working hard and taking their time. We definitely want to avoid the dreaded “hand”!
Reminder: You can monitor live progress from your device
Good Luck! I know our students will give their best!
