A Message from Superintendent Dr. Shawn Olson ~ 2-12-2021
Fourth Quarter Learning Options and Family Commitment Form
At a Committee of the Whole meeting last night, the Board of Education gave consensus to move forward with a return to in-person learning during the fourth quarter of this school year. Our updated Back-to-School plan offers families the choice between full day in-person learning and remote learning beginning April 7, 2021.
It is important to note that full day in-person learning will not look like full in-person learning has looked in the past. Students will be grouped to limit contact and will not move from class to class; teachers will move. Students will be required to wear masks and self-certify each morning that they are fever-free and symptom-free. Distance between students in each classroom will vary based on the specific ratio of in-person/remote learners and will not be six feet apart in most cases. This will increase the number of students who need to quarantine for up to two weeks due to contact tracing. Students will be social distanced at six feet during lunch periods.
Additionally, our school day will revert to original times. Elementary students will be in school from 7:55 am - 2:25 pm and middle school students will be in school from 8:45 am - 3:15 pm. A remote student's school day will mirror the times of in-person learning.
Our updated Back-to-School plan, including learning model descriptions, frequently asked questions, and detailed plan components can be found below.
