Look at our First Graders learning "The Dewey"!
Dewey Decimal is a way for books that are about the same subject to be grouped together. Learning the Dewey Decimal System helps children navigate the nonfiction section of most any library collection. This helps them to have the ability the ability to think about how things are organized and how to classify information. Students become independent users of the library when they learn how to find nonfiction books on their own.
Survey Help needed from parents...just a few minutes of your time!!!
BrightBytes Survey - We need your input parents!!
Hello Parents & Guardians,
We are partnering with BrightBytes, an educational research organization, in order to learn more about our students’ school and home technology use for learning. For that reason, we are reaching out to ask you to take part in a short questionnaire (approximately 5 minutes). Your participation is essential in helping us form a more complete picture of technology use for learning in your students’ lives. Please know that all of your responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy. The last day to take the survey will be May 1st. Thank you for taking time to complete this and support Stateside Elementary School.
Annual Climate Survey - We would love to hear from each of you (only one survey needed per family)
Please take a quick second to fill out the following parent survey to help us gain information on how we can help better serve our Patriots at Stateside Elementary School.

Join us for April 15th - PURPLE UP DAY!!!!!
The month of April provides an opportunity to recognize and honor the service of our youngest heroes, military children. Established by former Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger in 1986, the designation of April as the Month of the Military Child acknowledges the significant role military youth play in our communities. They are resilient and take pride
Wearing the color purple is a visible way to show support and thank military youth for their strength and sacrifices. Why purple? Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, as it is a combination of Army green, Marine Red, and Coast Guard, Air Force, and Navy blue. The goal of “Purple Up!” is for military youth to actually SEE the support in their school, youth groups, and the community!
Picture Day - update
The photographers said that all proofs, class photos (for those who paid) and 5th grade group shot (for those who paid).
Please return any proofs that are not wanted. If you choose to keep any, please follow the directions included on the envelope for payment instructions. All students were photographed unless a parent specifically told the teacher they did not have a desire for Spring pictures.
Sibling photo packets will be given to the oldest sibling in the family. Same rules apply for those packets. Keep what you would you like and send in payment...return what you do not wish to keep.
Once they are in your hands, will will send out a date of when we would like all monies and proofs back.
And no worries if you missed ordering a class photo or group photo. We tend to get extras. Your teaches will send out emails on a first come first serve sale basis.
