Class Begins August 24th!
An Introduction of my class in the Fall.
My name is Katelyn Bennett. I am a new teacher, but I am very excited to start teaching this fall!
I've recently graduated from Ohio University with a major in Middle Childhood Education and a focus on Language Arts and Social Studies.
I was raised in a family of educators. My maternal grandparents have both taught at the college level, my mother teaches 2nd grade, my father teaches 6th grade social studies, my paternal grandfather drove school bus when he retired, my paternal grandmother was an elementary school secretary. I have an aunt who is currently working as a secretary at an university, and my uncle is on the school board. My younger sister is currently a freshmen in high school, and my brother is a Senior at Mount University studying to become an engineer.
I have a dog named Bailey who is adorable and energetic!
These are my parents. They were in California at an Apple Convention.
This is me.
Now you have a face to a name, and you know who to look for on the first day of class!
This is my puppy, Bailey. She's a yellow lab and some other breed mix. She's full of energy, but so cute!
My Teaching Philosophy
I hope to be able to make students excited to learn.
I want to help students to gain new perspectives and have new understandings of things.
I wish for my students to become more confident and comfortable with themselves.
All students will feel safe in my class.
My students will respect others.
