The country of Ireland is located on the continent of Europe. It is an island nation on the western edge of Europe. It is about the same size as West Virginia. The capital city of Ireland is Dublin. It is also the largest city in Ireland. Ireland is known for large and wide areas of green fields. It's nickname is the Emerald Isle. There is also large areas of rocky land caused by the movement of glaciers over 15,000 years ago.

*They use the Euro instead of dollars and cents.

*Christianity is the largest religion, mostly Roman Catholic.

*The climate is mild.
