Below is an explanation to help teachers understand the difference between the Instructional Relationship Weight and the Instructional Responsibility Weight. I also included the testing window dates as well as the PVAAS verification dates.
Please remind teachers to review each column for accuracy and if a student has switched classes during the school year, teachers should communicate among themselves to be sure the student is not over/under claimed.
Instructional Relationship Weight - The percent of time the student was enrolled at PGSD (this can be less than 100% if the student started after the 1st day of school or left before the first day of the testing window). Take the total # of days student and teacher concurrently enrolled up to and including the last school day before the testing window and divide it by the total number of days from the beginning of the year to the testing window (See Information below for the total # of days for each test). That should give you the percent of time.
Instructional Responsibility Weight - The % of instruction for which an individual teacher is responsible in the course. (This varies depending on if you share instruction with another teacher (co-teacher) and you both handle Domains 1 & 3). If you share instruction with another teacher please be sure and review the percent with the other teacher.
PSSA Testing Window Dates:
ELA = 4/15/19-4/26/19 = 146 days
Math/Science = 4/29/19-5/3/19 = 153 days
Keystone Testing Window Dates:
Algebra/Literature/Biology - May 13-May 24, 2019 = 163 days
The above counts are for in session school days only - we do not count District Holidays/days off.
PVAAS - Teacher Verification Phase: May 11-May 24, 2019
Message from Mrs. Britton.......(Good Stuff)!!!!
Sorry it’s taken me so long to send an email since we had the baby! We’ve been quite busy adjusting to life with a newborn and a toddler at home, but we’re enjoying it and having some fun especially since the weather is getting nice now. Bradley Dean Britton was born on March 15th weighing 8lbs and 15oz. For the most part, he is a pretty chill baby and only really wakes us up once in the middle of the night now, so we don’t complain much about that! His big 2 year old sister is very proud and loves to help care for her little brother. We will probably stop by and say hello towards the end of the year. Hope all is going good for you all during the last quarter ( hang in there summer is coming), and hopefully PSSAs have been going smoothly for all. Here are some cute pics to make you smile!
Best Regards,
Judy Britton
