DUE NOVEMBER 1 - Sign Up for 5th Grade Musical "Madagascar Jr."
Dear Fifth Grade Families,
It gives me great pleasure to offer the 5th grade students an after-school experience that I hope they never forget. This year’s production is “Madagascar Jr.” based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar.
After Marty the Zebra decides to chase his dream to see life outside of the zoo, we follow Marty and his crew of unlikely friends Alex the Lion, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe on a wild and wacky adventure from New York’s Central Park Zoo to the island of Madagascar. Will life outside of the cage be all they had hoped or will they miss the life of luxury they have taken for granted? Either way, it is sure to be one “crack-a-lackin’” journey that will make the old and young want to “move it, move it!”
For all the musical production information you must visit the 5th grade musical website. This site will give you instruction on how to move forward if your 5th grader decides to audition for this year's production. Please read through all of the information before making the decision to sign-up (Permission Slip/Contract is included on the site). The musical is a big commitment. If you have any questions after going through the information on the musical site please email me at jaime.steinbach@mansfieldschools.com.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE FROM OUR NURSES.....
We have been seeing a number of students at J/J who are sustaining injuries requiring medical intervention like casts, crutches, walking boots, slings, etc. If your child has an injury requiring such treatment, please submit documentation from your child’s treating provider. This documentation should include the diagnosis, type and length of treatment, and any activity restrictions that should be followed in school; for example, no gym or recess. If the provider feels your child is safe to attend recess, the documentation must state so.
Also, if your child is in a walking boot, please include information stating whether stairs can be used or if use of the elevator is necessary. We use this documentation to formulate plans with the teachers and staff in school, so injured students can optimize their school day in a safe way. To err on the side of caution, injured students will remain out of gym and recess until we receive the documentation. All students using crutches must use the elevator.
All documentation can be emailed to courtney.cogliano@mansfieldschools.com and aimee.reber@mansfieldschools.com OR it can be faxed to 508-261-7522.
Thank you for helping us keep your child safe,
Courtney Cogliano, RN and Aimee Reber, RN
