The theme for this presentation is, "The attitude of others prevents those in need, from escaping poverty." I chose this theme because in my belief, everyone should get a second chance. The only way for someone to recognize help they receive from someone is if they actually get that help in the first place.
In the Raisin in the sun, the family's grandpa passes away and they are supposed to receive money for his death. In the case of this family, even after they get their money stolen they still move, because that's what they want. They have the attitude to continue on and keep fighting for what they believe is right and fair.
Phil Collins - Another Day In Paradise
In the YouTube video above, Phil Collins sings , " She calls out to the man on the street
"Sir, can you help me?
It's cold and I've nowhere to sleep,
Is there somewhere you can tell me?"

He walks on, doesn't look back
He pretends he can't hear her
The man doesn't want to help her because she lives on the street and he cant go out of his way to help her, so he pretends she does not exist. By the man doing this he is making the lady believe that there is no hope for her, that no one cares about her and that she will never better herself.
To understand how someone lives you must first walk in their shoes and experience what they experience. You cannot just assume to know what they have been through. Poverty makes people think that they are no good. That they cannot ever move from where they are now to something better, but they can and eventually will.
