Persephone
Persephone is the goddess of the underworld. Persephone appears exlusively as the queen of the underworld, receiving the likes of Herakles and Orpheus at her court. She is the daughter of the god Zues, Hades is the uncle of Persephone. Persephone means "she who destroys the light."

Brief Story of Persephone
One day, when she was collecting flowers on the plain of Enna, the earth suddenly opened and Hades rose up from the gap and abducted her. Zues conspired in her daughters abduction. Persephone was usually depicted as a young goddess holding sheafs of grain and a flaming torch.
