Testing
EOG/EOC Paper/Pencil Assessment and Online Calculator:
We have been asked whether or not a student with the accommodation for paper/pencil testing may have access to the online calculator. This can be approved through a Special Accommodations Request for students with a documented need on the IEP only. Please make certain IEP teams are aware of this.
Request to Test Early EOG’s:
In the past we have received requests for students to test early for reasons such as moving out-of-state and want the student to be tested before leaving. Currently, the only exception to test a student early for the EOG’s is for those students of military families that are being relocated. If, however, you receive a request to test early, we will submit the request to DPI for consideration.
Congratulations Lara Cabaniss!
Frequently Asked Questions for TRC & Read to Achieve
Can we continue to use a level Q as a way to determining proficiency in 3rd grade?
Amplify did not apply to be a candidate for a "good cause exemption" with the state. As a result we are not able to officially use the level Q as a benchmark indicator of passing as we have done in the past. iReady will continue to be our alternative local assessment indicator, with a Lexile Level of 725, or higher (537 scale score.)
Do we need to change assessors for MOY TRC testing?
No we want our classroom teachers to continue to complete the running records on their own students to inform their instruction. Just a friendly reminder that students do not have to officially be benchmarked. If teachers feel they have enough information on a student to inform their instruction they do not need to continue assessing, they can simply leave the student with the pause button. This is a big shift for many, but we want everyone to get back to using running records for what they are intended for.
