AMS is focused on building the social/emotional skills of our students. This week the students participated in an assembly centered around our AMS SOAR goal of “Success”. Students were encouraged to work toward being successful in their daily lives and how that translates in their interactions with others.

7th Grade science is currently studying body systems in animals. Our main focus is on the circulatory and respiratory systems and how they work together. We are looking for a respiratory therapist who is interested in coming in to speak to our 7th graders about their job and the respiratory system. Interested in helping out? Winter Sports: Cheer, Boys and Girls Basketball and Wrestling

There is a sign-up table in the main lobby for Winter Sports. In order to participate, the athletic contract must be completed (even if you participated in a fall sport) and returned to the coach.

Cheer is open to grades 5-8, first practice is Nov. 1

Girls Basketball (A/B teams) is open to grades 6-8, first day of tryouts is Nov. 8

Boys Basketball (A/B teams) is open to grades 6-8, first day of tryouts is Nov. 8

Wrestling is open to grades 5-8, first day to practice is Nov. 15, parent mtg is 11/15 at 5:45pm

Check out some photos of our culminating activities to celebrate the end of the AMS Eagle Challenge below and on our website. We celebrated the S(uccess) in SOAR during late start assemblies and challenged students to continue to take actions to grow our AMS community! So many Launchpads were also successful in completing the "Pay it Forward" challenge to add to our positive community by sharing and thinking of others.

We have many items FOUND over the past few weeks and want them to get to their rightful owners. We will leave the Lost and Found display on our front porch this weekend to accommodate families and students to retrieve lost items. The display will return to the hallway entering the gymnasium on Monday morning. Please stop by this weekend to find your missing items.

Thank you to Lucie Hodgdon and Elysse Bell, now AMS alum, who worked over the past year and a half on their Girl Scout Silver Award project. This project resulted in a new athletic equipment shed for us. The project consisted of 50 hours of work to plan, organize, access resources and build the shed. The girls both played Field Hockey and Softball and felt bad for the FH goalie and Softball catcher who had to carry their gear every day on the bus. This allows the storage of the equipment in a safe and convenient location on school property. Thank you ladies, the work is appreciated and another time we can boast about our incredible students. #loveAMS
