Teacher Clarity - Focused Instruction
Teacher Clarity - The essential questions for the students to know the answers to.
Focused Instruction is an important part of overall lesson design. This means establishing a clear lesson purpose. It is important to ensure that students see/understand the relevance of the lesson. Lesson's Purpose can address goals related to the content, language, social aspect or Pathway focus.
Establishing Purpose is an instructional routine that matters. Establishing Purpose allows the student to make the connection between lesson activity they are completing and the reasons they have to learn it. This is especially important to our English Learner students.
The connection we are hoping you can make for your students by Establishing Purpose is the connection between the lesson activity and the way it supports why a person in their Pathway would have to do the activity. This makes the lesson relevant to the student.
