Raider Review
From the Office of the Principal
Second Semester is HERE!
Dear Students & Parents/Guardians,
Every year I am surprised how quickly the first half of the school year goes by! With the 2023-2024 school year halfway over, it is time for some reminders and highlights.
The first and most important is EXAMS. If your student is going to miss school on an exam day, please let the office know so we can make arrangements to complete the exam at an alternate time. Also, if your student misses and exam day due to sickness, please make sure to excuse the absence.
I hope everyone had a restful holiday break and is ready to go for second semester!
- Mrs. Endicott

Athletic News
Winter 2 season started Wednesday, January 3rd. If your student is interested in participating in the following sports, please contact the coach directly.
Remember, before your student can participate, they must have a current physical exam dated after April 15, 2023. This form must be on file with the school before your student can practice or try-out. Physical forms are available in the main office. You can also find them on the MHSAA website. Don't forget, the pay-to-participate fee for a middle school student is $100.
There will not be a Winter 2 Meet the Team meeting - but anticipate hearing from your coach (after cuts are made) regarding a pre-season parent meeting.

January 11th - 3rd and 4th hour
January 12th - 1st and 2nd hour

If your student has a preplanned absence during exams, please contact the office. We will help you make arrangements with the teacher to take the exam at an alternate date and time.

Attendance Phone Calls
If your student is marked "unexcused" absent for any part of the day, you will now receive an automated phone call to let you know. This can serve as your reminder to call in your student's absence as "excused" or let you know if your student was marked absent for only one hour in the middle of the day!
If your child is going to be absent or late to school on any given day,
please call the absence line at 810-591-2810.
Mobile Dentist
Your student received information regarding the Mobile Dentist in advisory. If you would like to sign up, fill out and return the packet or sign up online at www.myschooldentist.com.
The mobile dentist will be here on Wednesday, February 7th. If you would like your student to participate, return the enrollment form by January 19th.
Yearbook
Students are encouraged to purchase a yearbook early! Yearbooks are $40 and can be purchased through the Walsworth website.
If your student is in 8th grade and is interested in helping put the yearbook together, please contact Mr. Roy. Students interested in working on the yearbook should join the Google Classroom for more information about times and jobs available.
Important Reminder
Unless students are involved in specific after-school activities (with adult supervision), or are working directly with staff, they are NOT allowed to "hang out" in the building after school.
Thank you for your cooperation!
