Widespread pandemic of AIDS in many African countries

AIDS population

There are 34 million people infected with AIDS worldwide, and nearly 23.8 million of those people live in Sub-Saharan Africa. So that means roughly 2/3 of the world's population lives in sub-saharan Africa.

AIDS VIRUS (how it works)

AIDS is typically a sexually-contracted disease that begins as HIV. It can also be spread through medical tools, such as syringes. It attacks the immune system, and destroys white blood cells. It started when a homosexual man returned to new jersey from Haiti, while carrying the AIDS virus. His boyfriend then contracted the disease.
