Eastridge Elementary School July 24, 2020

First Day of School

The 1st day of school for the 2020-2021 school year is scheduled for Thursday, August 6th.

Welcome Back!

Hello Eastridge Families!

This is Mrs. Johnson, the principal at Eastridge Elementary. I hope you’ve had a great week! I want to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year and provide you with some important information. School begins on Thursday, August 6, and we are excited to begin a new year with our students!

We will be hosting a Back to School Night for our students and families next Tuesday, August 4. Please listen carefully to the following information.

On Tuesday, August 4 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm, we will host a Back to School Night for our students who will be attending school in person. Grades 1 - 4 will hold Back to School Night virtually. We will host two sessions to meet the scheduling needs of families. The first session will begin at 6:00 pm and end at 6:40 pm. The second session will begin at 6:45 pm and end at 7:25 pm.

We are offering an in-person Back to School Night for our Kindergarten students only on August 4 as well. Kindergarten teachers will hold two face-to-face sessions. The first session will begin at 6:00 pm and end at 6:30 pm. Families whose last name begin with the letters A-M will attend the first session. The second session will begin at 7:00 pm and end at 7:30 pm. Families whose last name begin with the letters N-Z will attend the second session. In order to practice social distancing we are asking that only one family member accompany the student to back to school night. Our staff will greet you at door 1 of our main entrance and show you to your child’s classroom at your schedule time. This will provide your kindergarten student an opportunity to meet his or her teacher and locate his or her classroom before their first day of school. Parents will not be allowed to accompany students into the school building on the first day of school so this will provide your kindergarten student an opportunity to meet his or her teacher and locate his or her classroom before their first day.

Please remember students in grades 1 - 4 will have virtual back to school night meetings. Only kindergarten students will have in-person meetings.

Your child’s teacher will be contacting you on Monday, August 3 to provide more information about Back to School Night.

We would appreciate your help in notifying us if your child will be a car rider for the upcoming school year, as we anticipate a greater number of car riders this year. If your student(s) will be a car rider this school year please email our secretary Mrs. Metzger at hmetzger@warren.k12.in.us or by filling out this dismissal form with your child's first and last name and if applicable the name of the daycare in order to have your car rider tags ready on the 1st day of school. This will help make our car rider process much faster and efficient.

We are looking forward to the start of the school year and can’t wait to connect with our students! Take care. Be safe and have a great weekend!

Virtual Learning Academy

If your student registered for the virtual learning path for the 2020-2021 school year, I'd like to share some important information with you. School begins on Thursday, August 6. There will be a device and textbook pickup in order to get needed materials to our virtual students on Tuesday, August 4 from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm at Eastridge Elementary. Kindergarten students will receive a school-issued iPad. 4th-grade students should return their Chromebooks and chargers so that they can receive a school-issued iPad. All other students should use the device that was issued last spring. If you did not receive a device, a device will be issued to you on Tuesday evening. As a reminder, this is a drive-thru pick-up. We will have signs that will direct you to the north side of the building. Please remain in your car. Staff will come to your car to retrieve the needed information and will bring materials to you. Please remember if your child will be a 4th grader, they will need to return their Chromebook and charger and will receive an iPad. I know the first day of school is coming quickly and you are eager to learn more about your student's teachers and classes. Your student's virtual teacher will contact you by Wednesday, August 5th to share information. Thank you so much for your patience and support! We are looking forward to starting our 20-21 school year next week!
