Meningococcal Vaccine Requirement for Class of 2020
IMPORTANT: All 12th grade students need to show documentation of receiving the meningitis vaccine prior to the first day of school on August 23, 2019, or they will not be allowed to attend school or participate in any school related activities, including sports. Please read the information below for more details and contact our UHS School Nurse with any questions.
Meningococcal Vaccine Requirement
Seniors – fall 2019 - Class of 2020
The state of Iowa requires that all students entering or transferring into 12th grade and born after September 15, 1999, will need to provide vaccine documentation of two doses of the meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY). One dose of the meningococcal vaccine is required if the vaccine was administered when the student was 16 years of age or older.
We encourage you to contact your healthcare provider and make an appointment to complete the meningococcal vaccine requirement and/or Tdap booster requirement soon. Please forward documentation of the completed vaccines to our school nurse when the requirement is completed. Thank you!
