WELCOME TO YOUR NEWSLETTER!

As District Title I Academic Coaches, we want to serve you in any way we can. We offer you this space as a way to keep communication open and helpful. If your school is planning an event or activity that could support teachers in other schools (i.e.,Edcamp), let us get the word out for you. We welcome celebrations, as well. Toot your own horn, highlight your teachers, share a strategy.

Send an email to any one of the coaches, and we will be happy to report your news!

OH NO! IT'S TIME FOR TESTING???

Being in testing mode is not an easy task! Keeping teachers calm and supporting them as you travel through the building, along with keeping yourself sane is difficult! Take an occasional brain break, and encourage teachers to do the same. Students will benefit, too.

SPOTLIGHT ON SCHOOLS

Congratulations go out to:

* Griffin Middle School and Smyrna Elementary School who had winners in the Cobb County Writing Fair. Wow!

* Floyd Middle School who had a student reach the TOP 10 in the Georgia National Geography Bee! Awesome!

* Garrett Middle School's Media Specialist, Zarii Zimmerman, trained a group of 6th - 8th grade students to Skype with elementary classes at Milford, Belmont Hills, and other schools. They had a picture book read aloud time during Read Across America Week. Bravo!

* Pebblebrook High School's vocal/piano teacher, Evelyn White, is one of 5 finalists in the Fox 5 Atlanta High Five for Teachers Contest. Voting began yesterday and will continue until April 22. Let's do our part to help her win by voting at www.foxfiveatlanta.com. Spectacular!
