I enjoy this time of year...minus the pollen that tends to take over! Spring is a time for renewal, growth and in the education world, testing. I spent the weekend thinking about my own learning and the "what next" part of my journey. As many of you know, I was out on March 30th taking the test for superintendent certification. I am happy to say, I was successful on the test, but I found myself in the same seat that many of our students will be in this week. I had much self doubt, fear and anxiety over the test. On top of that i had to wait a week to get scores. It is tough to be a student during high stakes testing. How will you support, nurture and empathize with our students this week? What will you say or do that will leave a positive lasting impression on them as they face the next several days of testing.

I know that my own experience the last few weeks with "testing' has made me much more cognizant of how it feels to be a student. It is important that they understand they are not defined by one test, all we ask is that they do their best and we will be here to support them regardless of the outcome. My eyes have been reopened to the significance of their stress and I will work hard this week in maintaining a calm, stress free learning environment.

Thank you for helping our students see their value everyday! You are rockstars!

All Chromebooks have been delivered to grades 3-6. While I realize we are short some docking stations and a few devices, Lucas came up with a solution that will get us through testing. We will deal with the other docking stations and device shortage once testing is over. I hope that you will take the time to thank Mr. Clark and the board for making this happen. Also, please let Lucas and Doug know they are appreciated. It took a lot of "doing" to get this pulled off so that we could use the new Chromebooks for testing. We are truly blessed!! The kids are pretty fired up about having them in their classrooms!
