A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School

February 10, 2023

Andrea Conner, BHS Principal

Hello Bulldog Families.

We’ve had another full week at BHS with multiple parent meetings while many of our athletic teams hosted their senior night. One Bulldog Place was full of a lot of positive energy!

We held our mandatory College Credit Plus (CCP) meeting on Monday along with an informational scheduling event for families with students in grades 8-11. As we are entering the scheduling season for the 2023-2024 school year, it’s important to remember that students should pick the coursework that is right for them and will fit their potential chosen interest. One common question students and parents ponder surrounds the differences between CCP and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. It’s important to weigh the pros and cons of both options and to go into the scheduling process with all of the important information.

For your reference, please review the following article linked here from the Ohio School Board Association concerning the pros and cons of both CCP and AP. CCP and AP Overview

Be sure to review the important dates in this newsletter to stay informed about what’s happening at BHS!

In service to our Bulldogs.

  • If you have a student who is currently in 11th grade, BHS will be administering the state-administered ACT on March 14. This testing session is free for all families. In preparation, our teachers will be working with our 11th grade students to help them get ready for this important assessment. Research shows that the more times students take the assessment, the more comfortable they become with the test and score higher. Please click on this link to review national ACT testing dates and timelines: 2022-2023 National ACT Testing Dates. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student’s counselor.
