PTO News
On The Move
Thank you so much for responding to the call for more volunteers with this! It really makes a difference in how smooth OTM goes. This week is fully staffed, but there are a few slots available for the last week of school. Please sign up on the spreadsheet with your contact info - we sometimes send updates and helpful info to those who are volunteering. Once you sign up on the spreadsheet, all you have to do is sign in on myimpact when you arrive for your shift.
Art Night
A lot of work has gone into this being an extra special event for our students. Please see the flyer! We are still looking for volunteers - If you can spare the time, please sign up on the spreadsheet here.
PTO going forward!
We are currently looking for people interested in the following PTO roles:
Co-President - work with Alina Horrocks overseeing and coordinating the various facets of PTO (clubs, events, teacher/school needs, meetings, etc). Attend regular meetings with our principal Mrs. DO, monthly PTO meetings, and occasional board meetings. Board positions are designed to be a 2 year commitment so that there is carry-over from year to year.
Co Vice President - work with Miriam Ortiz, also attend monthly PTO meetings and occasional board meetings. The VP also would help with communications: designing infographics, accessing the PTO email distribution list, posting on social media, and helping with flyers. We are also trying to find ways to improve our website so it's a bonus if you have any background with that!
Co-Volunteer Coordinator - work with Laura Hoffman to determine and advertise volunteer needs. A lot of this can be done remotely if needed. If interested, please reach out to Laura for more info (lauramonfrooe@gmail.com)
On the Move Coordinator - OTM has been so well received! We would love to be ready to start another session in the fall when school begins. To do that, we really do need someone willing to head it up. The coordinator wouldn't have to be at every session, but they would be the main contact and help oversee cards, prizes, and send reminders/info to the OTM volunteers.
5th Grade Celebration Coordinator - We'll need a 5th grade parent next year to help oversee the fundraising for and planning of the traditional 5th grade celebration next year. We have contacts and resources for you to get you started!
We will also be looking for those willing to help with the planning of School Beautification in August and Jogathon in the fall. We would love some fresh faces and new ideas! If you would like any more info, please reach out to pto@oakhillspto.org. Like the saying goes: "many hands make labor light"! We've made a lot of progress this year getting back after covid. The PTO continues to get more organized and streamlined. Plus it really is a lot of fun to be able to bring these fun and enriching programs/events to our kids at school. Please consider joining if you can!
Next PTO Meeting - BUDGET MEETING
Please join us for our next PTO meeting June 14th at 7pm in the school gym. If you would like to join us via zoom it will be audio only. This is the meeting where we decide the budget for next year so if you would like to have a say in our events and activities and how we spend PTO money, please join! We will also vote on new board members.
