Tisch's Tidbits
Field Trip
We had such a fun time at the middle school this morning! We watched all of the musical groups perform, so your child should hopefully be able to have a better vision as to what they would like to do next year! We then went on a tour to get a feel for the school. We told the kiddos to not worry if they don't have the entire building memorized! We will be back and after the first week of school, they will have it down! Lockers are always a stress. One way to help reduce this stress is to get 2 locks with the numbers, lock them together and have a lock off! Whoever can unlock their lock first wins. Thanks to those who have already turned in their forms. Just a friendly reminder that these are due February 23.

Kroger Gives Back!
Now that Kroger is rocking our worlds with their new stores and low prices, they’re also going to help our school!
If you haven’t gotten a Kroger Plus card yet, sign up for one and then add Union Elementary to your Community Rewards organization name.
If you already have a Kroger card simply hop on your computer and follow these easy steps…
1.) Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
2.) Click on “Kroger Community Rewards”
3.) Click on “View your rewards details”
4.) Scroll to “Community Rewards” and click “Edit”
5.) Type in 31364 and hit “search”
6.)Click on Union Elementary, and hit “Enroll”
Let Grandma and Grandpa know how easy that was, and get them signed up too. Now Kroger will give Union a percentage of what you spend which helps in many ways. This small action helps buy school supplies, instruments for music class, and much more. Thanks for your support. If you have any questions or need help please contact Brittany Henney at Brittanykay1@gmail.com
MRS. SHEPPARD
We raised over $50 for Mrs. Sheppard last week. Wow!!! Thank you for your generous donations. I know she will be deeply touched during this difficult time.
VALENTINE’S DAY
We look forward to celebrating Valentine's Day with our students at their classroom parties on Wednesday, February 14th. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to emphasize the lifeskill of kindness with all of our students. As you are out shopping for Valentines to share with classmates, please select cards and/or trinkets that are inedible. This could include pencils, erasers, stickers, etc. Candy will not be distributed. Thank you for ensuring that all students can have a safe and fun celebration. Please look below for a list for the names of the students in our class.
2nd Semester Volunteers
The second semester is here! If you are interested in helping me prepare some things for the classroom or possibly work with a small group, I would love to have your help! I am flexible with times, so just let me know the time you will come. I have a break from 8:30-9:00 each day so this is an easy time for me to show you what to do. My lunch varies on the other days between 12:00-1:00. Thank you in advance for all of your help!

ISTEP
The ISTEP practice test will be either the week of February 19th or the week of February 12th. Our final ISTEP schedule should be out in the next few weeks—but look for it to probably start when the window opens the week of the 26th or the first week of March. Attendance is very important on those testing days. Testing with the class in the typical environment certainly helps the students feel confident and at-ease! We typically test in the mornings.
