Whale Watching Trip- RipTide Charter
I have scheduled a whale watching field trip for Thursday, May 5th . If I get enough participation, we will go. Students have permission slips, which need to be turned in by April 25th. Without enough interest, I will have to cancel the trip. We can only take 15 students because of the boat's capacity. The first 15 students to turn in completed permission slips will go! Please remind your student to turn in the permission slip.
Specific information about the experience can be viewed on this link http://www.riptide.net/whale.htm. The permission slip has all the details!
The normal price for this trip is $45.00 per person, but, I have some donation monies, so it will be free!!!
Work Completion
Please encourage students to spend more time in our classroom, or at home to complete assignments. There are only 32 school days left to earn credit. The days will pass quickly... Our math tutor is here on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30-1:30. All coursework (including Apex classes) needs to be completed by June 1st.
Fall 2016 Independent Study Participation
Please let me know if you do not intend to remain enrolled in ISP in the fall. We have 25 students on our waiting list right now, so we are trying to determine how much space we will have available for students. If you intend to return to your home school you should schedule an appointment with your counselor to discuss your fall schedule.
Returning Students and Fall 2016 Concurrent Enrollment
Independent Study students can register for Canada classes on May 10th and the concurrent enrollment form needs to be turned in prior to this date in order to register for classes. Many classes fill up quickly, so it is best to register on time.
Students who have already taken classes do not need to reapply to the college, but, they do need to turn in the concurrent enrollment form. New community college students also need to apply to the college.
As a reminder, students who take community college classes earn both high school and college credit. It is a great opportunity!
Students should be reviewing the Canada schedule and discussing options with their parents and with me.
If you want to apply to the college, click on this link to get started: http://canadacollege.edu/admissions/apply.php
I can do this with you if you prefer. Just let me know!

The concurrent enrollment form can be found on this link: http://canadacollege.edu/concurrent/index.php

The printed schedules and necessary forms are available in our classroom as well.
Please contact me if you have questions about this process.
Seniors and Senior Parents
As a reminder, students who intend to participate in their home school's graduation must work with the Activity Director at their home school to make sure they are included in all the graduation activities and information.
Four- year college bound students need to make sure to update their Naviance account with their college choice decision and keep careful track of deadlines for required documents, payments and information.
