Promoting Kindness
Social Emotional Learning through Literacy
Why Teach Kindness?
Kindness is a social-emotional competency that not only benefits those who receive it, but also those who give it! Being kind produces a greater sense of belonging and improved self-esteem in students. Forming meaningful connections through acts of kindness can lead to improved health and less stress, as we know relationships are a big indicator in the mental well-being of students. We encourage you to talk with your child about kindness and explore the following books, activities, and links, to further support these conversations!
Friday, February 14th the Batchelder Student Council will be hosting a school spirit day titled, "Kindness is Love." Students and staff are encouraged to wear pink, red, purple, white, or any clothing apparel that makes them feel happy!
