Book Summary
My favorite Book by Dr. Seuss is the Cat in the Hat, and the summary is:
Conrad and Sally Walden are home alone with their pet fish. It is raining outside, and there is nothing to do. Until The Cat in the Hat walks in the front door. He introduces them to their imagination, and at first it's all fun and games, until the house and their mom’s dress gets messed up, and The Cat must leave before their mom gets back.
Character
My favorite character is Horton. He is fat, funny, helpful, caring, good hearing, imaginational, forgiveful, loving, he doesn't take no for an answer, my favorite character, big, and awesome!
5 interesting
5 interesting facts about Dr. Seuss
Dr Seuss’s real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel but his friends and family called him ‘Ted’.
Ted married twice but never had any children.
While he was at college, Ted wrote for a college magazine called the Jack-O-Lantern. He was forced to resign after he and some friends were caught drinking gin in his room, violating the Prohibition laws of the 1920s. Ted continued writing for the magazine but started signing his work with the pen-name ‘Seuss’, his mother’s maiden name and his own middle name.
Ted worked as a cartoonist and then in advertising in the 1930s and 1940s but started contributing weekly political cartoons to a magazine called PM as the war approached.
- The first book that was both written and illustrated by Theodor Seuss Geisel was And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street. The book was rejected 27 times before being published in 1937.
