CPHS Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremony

Graduation Recommended Attire:
Graduates are encouraged to dress comfortably in school-appropriate attire along with their graduation cap and gown. Heels and wedge shoes are not allowed on the turf field.
Arrival at Gupton Stadium (Please plan to arrive during your designated time slot):
Each graduate is allowed up to eight (8) family members and two (2) vehicles. Each vehicle must have a sign that prominently displays the graduate’s name (Last Name, First Name). Graduates and their families should park in the designated area for graduate family parking. Please stay in your vehicle until prompted to move toward the main entrance. Upon exiting vehicles, a face-covering MUST be worn at all times by the graduate and all guests.
All graduates and their guests MUST enter the stadium as a group and remain together as a group until the entire group has exited the stadium. Once in the stadium, please abide by the marked spaces along the route to the field to ensure social distancing.

Diploma Packet & Graduation Program Pick-up:
Once you enter the stadium, please go to the tables underneath the bleachers to pick up a diploma packet and graduation programs. Each packet will include:
The graduate’s diploma
A commemorative mask (You may switch to this mask once you receive it.)
Cords, stoles, and medals that were not picked up (You may put these on at this time.)
Graduate Name Card Pick-up:
After picking up your diploma packet and graduation program, please proceed to the field where graduates will pick up their name card from a table. Prior to picking up their name card, hand sanitizer will be provided for graduates to sanitize their hands. All graduates MUST sanitize their hands. At this time, you may also write the phonetic spelling of your name on the card. You will then proceed to the stage and hand your card to Mrs. Colman.
Diploma Cover Presentation:
Before you arrive at the stage, please decide which two (2) guests will walk with the graduate across the stage. Family members who are not presenting the diploma will observe the ceremony from the field in front of the stage. Mr. Sloan will be on the stage, but will not hand out diploma covers to graduates or shake the graduate’s hand.
When the graduate’s name is called, each graduate and up to two (2) designated guests will walk across the stage and stop at the designated area.
One guest will present the graduate a diploma cover, and the other will turn the graduate’s tassel
Photo Texas Photography will take a picture
The graduate and guests will exit the stage
Photo Texas Photography will be on site for the graduation walk. Photos taken: one (1) photo of the graduate on stage as well as one (1) optional photo of the graduate with their guests and diploma cover once they exit the stage. All photos will be available for purchase through Photo Texas Photography.
Exiting the Stadium:
Graduates and guests should immediately exit the stadium via the visitors’ side ramp after the graduate has walked across the stage and taken their picture(s) with Photo Texas. Please proceed directly to your vehicles and refrain from congregating in the parking lot.
Water and Restrooms:
Water will be provided on tables as you wait in line. Restrooms will be open and available for use.
Health Pre-Screening:
All participating graduates and attending family members are required to self-screen for any of the following new or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19. This must be done prior to attending a Leander ISD graduation ceremony.
Please answer ALL questions below. ALL answers must be “NO” to attend:
1. Have you recently had any contact with anyone that is/has tested positive for COVID-19?
2. Do you have a new or worsening cough or shortening of breath/difficulty breathing?
3. Do you currently have a fever or have had one in the past 72 hours? (greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit)
4. Do you have 2 or more of the following:
· Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
· Cough
· Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
· Chills or repeated shaking with chills
· Muscle pain
· Headache
· Sore throat
· Loss of test or smell
· Diarrhea
· Known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19 if exposure to the active confirmed case occurred within the last 14 days
Those who answer “YES” to any of these signs or symptoms must exclude themselves from the ceremony. By attending this ceremony, you are attesting that you confidently answered “No” to ALL of the above questions and have a very low risk of carrying or spreading COVID-19.
