Alison and Maryellen will be managing RtI and are the official point people for Collins! Please be patient as they transition in to this responsibility.

The benchmarking schedule has been sent out. Students have been working hard on math and next week I know they will work just as hard on reading. Please give them praise!

I'm here for you.............well..........most of the time!

You can contact me by stopping in my office, emailing me, calling my extension (X334), calling or texting me, or leaving me a note on my desk or in my mailbox.

For personal reasons, I will be out of the building Friday, August 22 - Labor Day. I will return on September 2. I will not have email access most of the time. If you have an RtI related question, please contact Alison or Maryellen.

Tools to Help You Organize Your Classroom Library

How do your students know if they are choosing books at their reading level?

Are your classroom books organized by topic or reading level?

Here are a few resources that can help you:

Find and level books with Book Wizard. Plus, get booktalks, lesson plans, author studies, videos, and discussion guides.

You can search for a book and instantly view the book's:

  • cover image
  • title
  • author
  • interest level
  • GLE
  • Lexile measure
  • guided level level
  • DRA

There is also a FREE mobile app by the same name.

A great way to organize, level, and track your books!

Just like with Scolastic Scan your book's ISBN to view the Lexile, Guided Reading,
Grade Level Equivalent, and/or DRA levels for the book.

There is also a mobile app by the same name for a small fee.

Something to ponder....

"We do not heal the past by dwelling there; we heal the past by living fully in the present."
