Principal Lewis' Sunday Update for 5/20/19
I’d like to give a big shot-out to Ms. Prado who volunteered her time to make the yearbook. It looks amazing! If you have not had a chance to purchase one, there are some available in the office for $25.
Here are the announcements for this week:
Monday, May 20th at 7:50am, students in grades 1st-5th will meet their teachers up on the playground. We will have our BRAVO assembly, starting at 7:50am. This will be our final BRAVO assembly of the school year, and I will acknowledge the top fundraiser for the Jump Rope for Heart, the 35 students who have had perfect attendance all school year, and the SM Rotary will announce the SME teacher of the year.
Wednesday, May 22nd we will have our final SSC of the school year. Please come hear what parent volunteer positions are open for next school year.
Thursday, May 23rd all of our 4th and 5th grade Instrumental Music students and our Song and Dance Maniacs elective students will put on a show at 8:20am, 10:10am, and 6pm. Parents attending the day time show will need to sit in the balcony.
Friday, May 24th is our final Playday with a theme of Luau. Students may dress up and/or bring a non-electronic toy for their extended recess. We will also have our Chuck E. Cheese Restaurant Night from 3pm-9pm!!
Announcements:
Monday, May 20th, the City of SM will be doing work on Baldwin Ave. Please anticipate extra traffic and allow yourself a few extra minutes of travel time, to school.

PTA ANNOUNCEMENTS!
The SME PTA has awarded its most prestigious honorary service award, the Golden Oak, to Doreen Thomas.
Mr. Stephen Mulder is the PTA Outstanding Teacher of the Year!
Mr. Mulder is an excellent classroom teacher who forges lasting relationships with his students. Mr. Mulder goes above and beyond for our PTA -- personally raising funds for both the jog-a-thon and read-a-thon. Thank you for all you do, Mr. Mulder, and Congratulations!
