Monday Memo

From the Desk of the Principal......

I hope everyone is enjoying their 3 day weekend! Happy Labor Day. I hope you are celebrating by taking some well-deserved R & R for yourselves and family!

By now, you have noticed that the Monday Memo has taken a new and improved focus on instruction. Each week it includes resources related to our instructional priorities, school vision, mission and goals, as well as general announcements and reminders. You can count on having this information at your fingertips each week. You can also rest assured that if it is included in the Monday Memo, it is a priority or standard of practice in our learning community.

Professional Learning Communities (PLC)
have gotten off to a great start. Now that we have STAR data and we have recently received our OCCT scores, we will begin developing our grade-level and school wide smart goals. Smart goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Reasonable, and Time-bound. Each team will create one goal for reading and math. PLC priorities for September are as follows: creating SMART goals, creating curriculum maps and student trackers in Mastery Connect, Administering your first common assessment with Mastery Connect, and a weekly review of lesson plans.

We have had a great success with Apple ID Sign-Up. Currently we have approximately 521 students signed up for Apple ID!

There will be a series of Blackboard connect texts/calls going out over the next week. They have already been recorded and scheduled for future times. The messages include information about iPad Parent Information nights, and reminders about school uniform and breakfast times.

The links included in this Monday Memo are the master faculty calendar and the future professional development dates.
