Tiger Times
Weekly News and Notes - January 2nd through January 3rd
Titus Staff Updates
Mrs. WENDELL-WESOLOWICH, our Certified School Nurse, will be retiring on January 21st. Mrs. WW has worked in the district for 25 years and all 25 years have been at Titus as her home school. Mrs. WW is a tremendous asset to our school and we will miss her greatly. We are in the process of hiring a new Certified School Nurse and we will communicate that information to all families once our new hire is approved by the school board. Please join me in congratulating Mrs. WW on her upcoming retirement.
In addition to Mrs. Wendell-Wesolowich's retirement, we are happy to announce that pending school board approval in January, Mrs. Lauren Dowd will be appointed as the Interim Assistant Principal at Mill Creek Elementary. Even though this will be a huge loss for Titus, we know that Mrs. Dowd is going to do great things while at Mill Creek. We are currently in the process of hiring Mrs. Dowd's replacement and will communicate that information to our Titus families once our new hire is approved by the school board.

Dress for the Weather
Don't forget, as we enter the colder weather, to please dress appropriately for recess outside. Hats, gloves, coats, etc. are all important as we will be outdoors as long as the weather allows.
Walker and Bike Dismissal Reminder
Parents of our walkers and bike riders who leave through our dining room are reminded that they should not be driving and parking by the cafeteria doors. We have many staff members who park in this area for After Care and it may cause a dangerous situation for our walkers and bike riders who are leaving at the end of the day.
We appreciate your help in keeping our Titus children safe. If you need to pick up your child(ren) as a car rider, please use the car line in the back of the building and send communication to your child's teacher. Please do not pick up your child as a car rider by the cafeteria doors.
Dismissal Reminders
If it is necessary to change your normal pick-up routine at the end of the day, i.e., a different adult, bus rather than car, car rather than bus, a change in child care arrangements, etc., a written note must be presented to the classroom teacher, who will share the information with the office.
Any phone calls regarding a change in end-of-day plans must be directed to the office before 2:45 PM through phone (267-893-4500, dial zero for the office) or via e-mail (mdaily@cbsd.org and rglasgow@cbsd.org) and not directly to the classroom teacher, as we cannot guarantee the teachers will be able to check their messages during the instructional day. It is extremely important that all changes in dismissal are provided to the main office prior to 2:45 PM in order to prepare all of our children for dismissal. Only emergency changes should be called into the office after 2:45 PM.

Box Tops for Education
Congratulations to Mrs. Williamson's 4th grade class who was the winner of the 1st trimester Box Tops competition. They will be enjoying a Soprano's pizza party for lunch after the holiday break. Our 2nd trimester contest is now under way and classes will be competing to win a soft pretzel treat. Send your clipped Box Tops into your child's classroom; we will do our next collection in February. Keep scanning your store receipts and use the "give credit" icon to input your child's teacher's last name. (One teacher per scan. If you have multiple children at Titus you can edit the "give credit" section to a new teacher prior to tapping submit.) Competition results and information on the Box Tops program can be found here. Thanks for your participation.
