Join Us to Hear Yale World Fellow Wanja Muguongo Speak to Commemorate National Coming Out Day!
Ms. Muguongo manages the only African activist-owned and -led LGBTI and sex worker rights fund on a continent where homosexuality is illegal and punishable by jail sentence in 36 countries, and where the rights of transgender and intersex people are routinely violated.
UHAI-The East African Sexual Health and Rights Initiative makes grants and runs capacity-building and mentorship programs for LGBTI and sex worker organizations across East Africa. Muguongo’s mission is to nurture grassroots activism around sexuality, identity, and rights in Africa, moving society toward equality and non-discrimination
Ms. Muguongo is a self-described feminist and a firm believer in human rights and social justice.
