We started word families this week. Students are excited to be able to read AND write the -at family (cat, hat, rat, mat, sat, fat, flat,)
We read the "Rainbow Fish" and talked about how to be a good friend and treating others how we want to be treated. We followed it up with using watercolors to paint our own Rainbow Fish!
Super Apple Hero was here on Thursday to teach us how to stay healthy by eating vegetables and exercising. Lots of excitement in this lesson! See pics below!
A fun game we played in Math this week is a game you can play at home. We played the "Game of Compare" (I call it "war"). If you don't know how to play your student can teach you. It only requires a deck of cards.
We had a nice response of people that are willing to supply treats for our Halloween party. However, we are in need of a couple volunteers to host the party. (Halloween party is Tuesday, October 31st from 1:30-2:30) I will be here to help with the party as well. If you can help host the party please let us know by Monday.
The pizza party for the pumpkin contest has been moved to October 23rd.
Report cards will be sent home on October 26th. Please let me know if you have any questions. Sign and return along with the envelope by Monday, October 30th.
October 31st- Halloween party (1:30-2:30) -Students may bring costumes for the party. We will also have a special reader that day.
The weather has been great this week but we need to start thinking about colder weather. Be prepared to send snow boots, shoes to wear inside, snow pants, winter coats, hats and gloves when the time comes. It is a good idea to write your child's name on everything!
