CUSD Nutrition is excited to welcome back families and share answers to a few frequently asked questions about school breakfast and lunch! Due to changes in USDA regulations, Universal Free meals have not been extended to the 2022-23 school year. Meal prices for the 2022-23 school year are listed on our website. You can click here to apply for Free and Reduced Meals.

Free/ Reduced Applications

The 22-23 SY Free/ Reduced application is now available on-line. We encourage all families to complete the application as income guidelines have changed and families may now qualify for services. All information collected on the form is completely confidential and is not shared with any state or federal agencies. The on-line application is available here.

We have made a change in our on-line menu software and menus will be located on a platform called Mealviewer which can be downloaded from the Apple or Android Stores. Download the App Here

Students will be asked to have their ID to scan or key in their ID number. To keep the line moving quickly, we ask that all students bring their ID daily and memorize their ID number.

Parent Roundtables

I host monthly-ish parent Q & A sessions or roundtables where we collaborate on a number of topics. I host these meetings virtually for your convenience. Hope to 'see' everyone at these meetings. See below for dates and times:

  • In 2022-2023, Chandler Unified School District is launching a 1:1 learning initiative. We are excited about the innovative personalized learning opportunities that we can offer to all students when we provide them with a reliable technology device. To help parents and students learn more about this initiative, we have created our 1:1 Student Guide website, which you can find at There is a lot of information on this website, but we feel it is important to the success of this initiative to clearly communicate all of it to our parents and students. We encourage all of you to review this information with your child(ren) so you have a clear understanding of device expectations, maintenance, etc.

  • Devices will be distributed via their English classes during the 1st two weeks of the school year. Before students can get their device, their parent must sign a device agreement form. This form can be completed electronically by visiting the Infinite Campus parent portal, and directions on how to do this can be found at The directions on how to access these forms are also attached below.

  • There is a device protection plan that is offered for those wanting to purchase one. Our Booster has order some neoprene bags to hold the Chromebooks and help protect them during transit. They will be on sale during Dawn of the Knights. You will be asked to sign a device agreement form prior to the issuance of the devices. You will do so on Infinite Campus. Directions for how to access and complete the form are below.

Pick-up and Drop-off Procedures

Please be aware that pick up and drop off will be seem little chaotic the first two weeks of the school year as parents are still planning out transportation, and no students will be staying after school for tutoring or extra curricular activities. So, please plan accordingly.

  • We ask for your patience and courtesy during these times
  • Please do NOT have students cross streets. Even if it means waiting in the pick up line for a few extra minutes, it is worth it if it ensures all of our students' safety. We will not allow any student to cross. They can only be dropped off/picked up from the designated areas as shown on the map.
  • Please communicate ahead of time to you student where you will pick them up from - traffic flow #1, traffic flow #2 or traffic flow #3 so there is no confusion on day one. Generally, our 6th graders use traffic flow #1, 7th graders #2 and 8th graders #3. If your student doesn't know where to wait, we will use the default locations as stated above.
  • Please do NOT use your phone while waiting in the line to drop off or pick up
  • Please do NOT line up any earlier than 2:24pm during pick up. If you arrive early, please make use of the parking lot until 2:42pm. This is so any emergencies can be dealt with easily.
  • During drop off, please allow students to use any points of entry (any of the open gates) as long as students have a side walk to walk into the building - you do not have to wait until reaching the main gates.

6th Grade Electives:

All 6th grade students have an elective wheel with 3 or more classes. Students take a music class (band, orchestra, or choir) and rotate their music class along with either Art, Yoga or PE each semester.

Semester 1 example: student rotates between band on day 1, then PE on day 2, then back to band for day 1 again etc. Semester 2 the same student rotates band on day 1, and art on day 2, etc.

The 6th grade elective uses Exploratory as a placeholder on their schedule. Specific elective classes are listed at the bottom of their student schedule as Special 1 (Day 1) and Special 2 (Day 2).

On block days during period 3, students will attend the 1st half of class in Special 1 and switch to Special 2 for the 2nd half of the class period. Elective rotation schedule is attached below. It is also available on our website.

Car Pool Information:

Arizona College Preparatory offers a car pool directory service to our families. Use of this directory is “Opt-In”, meaning, you have to sign up to participate and when you sign up, you are giving ACP-Middle School permission to let other registered parents see your contact information.

This allows parents in nearby areas to contact others interested in car pooling. Parents must be a registered user for the CUSD website to access information.

The Carpool Directory is only viewable to other registered car poolers. However, ALL registered car poolers will have access to your name, address and any other contact information you choose to provide.

We will only register parents who have a student currently accepted to Arizona College Prep Middle School. Each campus will have its own car pool directory. The registration link for the car pool directory is also available on our school website under the “Parents” tab. Please be sure to enter ONLY PARENT information. Please do not include student phone numbers in this information database.

Parents must be a registered user for the CUSD website prior to gaining access to the directory. It takes approximately 24-48 hours to update once you have registered.

Required School Supplies

Dress Code:

All students are required to wear an ACP uniform to school starting the first day of on-site school instruction. ACP shirts may only be purchased thru our contracted vendor Anton Uniforms. Their store is located in Tempe just North of ASU and is open M-F, 10 am - 5 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am - 2pm. Walk-ins are welcome!

ACP families are encouraged to visit their store to ensure proper sizes for the uniform shirts.

Families may also order online and take advantage of shopping from home. Please refer to their online Sizing Charts to determine the perfect fit for your student’s growing needs. Anton Uniforms is our single source vendor for all uniform shirts and our only plaid skirt. You must purchase your uniform shirts from Anton Uniforms.

However, uniform pants/shorts/capris may be purchased from other vendors. If pants/shorts are not purchased at Anton’s, they must meet the uniform policy criteria. Uniform bottoms must meet strict material guidelines as well as style and length requirements. Note: Students are not allowed to purchase their own polo shirts and have the insignia sewn on.

Please refer to ACP’s Dress Code Policy and other dress code related information below.

PE Uniform:

Students who take PE are required to wear an ACP approved PE uniform shirt and solid black or ACP athletic shorts. The PE uniform t-shirts will be sold and distributed the first week of school through their PE class at ACP while supplies last. Exact cash or check payable to ACP Middle School only.

Only students who have 1st semester PE need to purchase a PE uniform when school starts. Students with PE 2nd semester will be required to purchase their shirts the first week school resumes in January for 2nd semester classes. Note: All 6th Graders will have PE and will need an ACP PE Uniform shirt.

The cost of the PE uniform shirt will be $10.00 per t-shirt. Due to a limited supply, families are limited to purchasing 2 PE uniform shirts per student during the first week of school. However, additional shirts may be ordered for later delivery.

Parents may purchase solid black shorts from an outside vendor. However, we have a limited number of shorts with the ACP logo available for purchase while supplies last. Note: PE uniforms from previous years will be allowed to be worn in PE class for the upcoming school year.

School Supply List:

Please print the attached back to school supply list below for your reference.

Summer Enrichment Packets

If you are looking for your student to brush up on concepts prior to the school year, please see below for some enrichment packets. Math 7 & Summer Pre Algebra Packet 1 have been created by the ACP staff so I would recommend doing those first. We recommend doing about 45 minutes of reading, 45 minutes of Math about 4 times a week. If you have access to MathSpace and can log in, you can sharpen your skills there as well.

On behalf of Arizona College Preparatory, welcome to our community of scholars and athletes. Students at ACP are expected to rise to a higher standard in all their pursuits, and our athletic programs provide a critical opportunity for them to do so.

Through athletics, our kids learn the value of healthy competition, teamwork, and pushing beyond their perceived limitations. While it will not always be comfortable, we strive to ensure it will always be valuable in preparing our students to meet challenges head-on. As such, our coaches are committed to ensuring athletes learn the key tenets of athletics while fostering safe and supportive environments. Our coaches are committed to teaching our kids how to work towards a common goal, how to lead and when to follow, and the value of continuous growth as an individual and community.

All 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Students are encouraged to try out for Athletics!

ACP-Middle School is one of only two schools that has 6th Graders trying out for their 7th Grade teams!

First Quarter Sports include:

7th Grade Baseball

8th Grade Baseball

8th Grade Girls' Volleyball

Students must pay a $20 athletic fee for each sport in which they participate. The fee is paid online and due once a student's roster position is confirmed; the AZ State Tax Credit may be applied to the fee. With payment, students will receive a t-shirt themed after their sport.

If your family needs financial assistance, please contact our Athletic Director Fred DePrez Jr at:

Students who wish to compete in any athletics throughout the year are required to complete the NEW online athletic packet/sports physical clearance process that is available on our website. Registration must be done prior to the first day of tryouts.

Please Make a Tax Credit Donation TO ACP MIDDLE SCHOOL

Arizona tax law allows individual taxpayers to claim a nonrefundable tax credit for making contributions or paying fees directly to a public school in AZ for support of eligible activities and programs.

ACP Parents

All extracurricular activity fees for students are now paid online thru the InTouch Fee Payment System accessible through the Parent Portal of Infinite Campus.

Student fees for the 2022-2023 school year will begin being posted in August.

Fees for music, clubs, sports, and field trip fees, etc. are assigned separately throughout the school year.

At the junior high level, the school office is unable to reallocate / redirect funds without parent and district approval. Be sure to select the specific fee for the activity where you want your payment applied. Sports fees are assigned quarterly and club fees are assigned once established.

When paying fees online (band/ orchestra, club or athletics fees, etc.), please consider making an additional contribution to our general fund in December to reach the maximum credit allowable.

Once you have paid all outstanding fees for ACP Middle School or if you have a family member that resides in AZ, please consider making an additional tax credit contribution to ACP's general fund before December 31st. If you are able to make your tax contributions prior to the end of the calendar year, your donation would be greatly appreciated. It will help give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50,000.00 this school year and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and ACP Middle School!

Tax Credit Basics…

A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.

Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
