Newsletter - Term 4, Week 2
Friday, 28th October 2022
From the Principal
The school has certainly been a hive of activity over the past week with athletics, technology challenges and everyone getting ready for our up-coming Pet Day. Over the weekend I am sure you will be helping your child prepare crafts and helping to get their pet(s) ready for the big day. I look forward to seeing everyone here on Monday for what is one of our busiest community days of the year.
Jonty Tackle 10s
We are again hosting and running the Jonty 10s rugby tournament at school this year. The date for this tournament is Friday, 18 November. We have around 13 boys teams and 9 girls teams entered this year which will will see well over 200 students taking part in this great event. Room 5
Another busy start to the term for Room 5. Fun at athletics day on the slide, waiting for our turn at discus. We went for a walk to look at the Otautau Sign, to see what features of our area are on the sign. This week two students needed to get new pencils, as they had used theirs up. A first for me as a teacher, as pencils usually get lost, not used up!
Room 6
Hard to believe that we are already two weeks into term 4 already! Here are some of our Room 6 Maker space creations from this term. Alexis Nagelkerken and Casey Flett’s lego creation (Hotel and Maze), Mason Calvert’s machine gun, Harper Morris’s mini chest, Jean Luc Joubert’s sniper rifle, Rylee rae’s puppy bed and Maddy Thomas’s school bag and cellphone.
Touch Draw - Monday 31st October
