Dear MacArthur Families and Friends,

Thank you for another wonderful week at the Ranch!

This week, Tuesday the 19th, is our BLUE Back Night/Meet The Teacher Event. We will start promptly at 6:00 PM. The evening will begin in your child's first period class and allow you to follow their schedule, first through eighth period. We will not have the kickoff in the auditorium this year. Please arrive with plenty of time to be seated in your child's first period class for a 6:00 PM start. It is highly encouraged that your child attend with you. If they are unable please attain a copy of your child's schedule in Skyward or from your child. For those students who take classes at either iCSI or CTEC, we will have a classroom designated in the A300 hallway for the meeting. We are looking forward to seeing you all there. MacArthur will be participating in the district-wide PSAT school day on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. This test will be administered online, in-school, for all 9th through 11th graders campus-wide on an adjusted bell schedule. This will be a senior late arrival day. Seniors who do arrive to campus during the testing window will be housed in the auditorium.

I would also like to once again encourage students and parents to join our PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association.) Information is attached below. This is a great way to get involved and support our campus. There will be sign ups available at Blue Back Night.

Brahma News

Brahma Tales is a student-produced news source for the MacArthur High School students, faculty and community. The purpose of Brahma Tales is primarily educational, but it serves to inform and entertain the readers and provide an open forum for student expression. The editorial board determines the content of Brahma Tales. Letters to the editor are welcome and may be published if space allows.

Batman Day: The library is celebrating Batman Day with a coloring contest. Stop by the library to pick up a Batman coloring page of your choice and submit your finished work to the circulation desk by September 22. Student voting will take place the last week of September to determine our winner!
Talk Like a Pirate Day: In honor of Talk Like a Pirate Day, the library is offering a Pirate Vocabulary Quiz. Students can pick up a quiz from our pirate book display and turn it in by September 19th. Students who earn a perfect score will be entered into a prize drawing!
Hispanic Heritage Month: For Hispanic Heritage Month, the library has a display of books featuring poetry, cookbooks, and biographies celebrating Hispanic culture. We will also have an student produced exhibit of prominent Hispanic figures from Ms. Moyer’s Mexican American Studies course.
