Week at a Glance:
Once the founding fathers had the Constitution written and the government planned, it was time to start working out the details of how the government would work. This involved developing the role of the president and the Supreme Court. This week students will focus on the development of the two parties: Federalists and Anti-federalists. Then they will learn how George Washington set precedents for all presidents to follow after him.
Learning Target for the Week:
Identify and/or explain ways the Founding Fathers responded to challenges facing the new nation.
Key Terms & Events:
precedents, isolationism, cabinet, impressment, Neutrality Proclamation, Whiskey Rebellion, Farewell Address
