Isle of Wight County Schools continues its partnership with the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office to provide a safe learning environment for all students and staff. One aspect of this partnership is the periodic use of K-9 units throughout the year to ensure campuses are drug-free. During these visits, schools will be placed on a modified lockdown to allow officials unobstructed access to the building. Families will be notified after K-9 units have completed their activities on school property. Through continued collaboration with the Sheriff’s Office, and support from parents and guardians, Isle of Wight County Schools will continue working to eliminate conduct that threatens the safety and security of our students and staff.
