JAGUAR UPDATE
Sunset Valley Elementary 2/9/18
Jaguar Corner
Hello Jaguars!
-CONGRATULATIONS to Addison who is the first Fuel Up To Play 60 Student Ambassador at SVE for this school year! Way to go!
-I was fortunate to have some great professional development this week listening to Dr. Moss. She is Global Vice-President for STEM Education through Discovery Learning. Pretty powerful information about our students, how they learn, and the job market in the area of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). There are jobs waiting for our kids in the area of: Mechatronics, iCar technology, Surgical Technician, Radiation Technician, Extracorporeal Technician, Bioinformatics, and Personalized Medicine.
-This week, in our classrooms, students went to the moon and discovered craters on the moon via technology. Students collaboratively engineered ramps to see if their egg cart could make it safely without breaking. The education of our students in the 21st Century is forging new paths that were not available to us 10-15 years ago. This is very exciting!

Major Saver Fundraiser
Small Card, BIG Results
2018 The Lees Summit Educational Foundation, Inc. Major Saver Campaign
The Lees Summit Educational Foundation is offering Major Saver cards for sale through the elementary schools. Students will receive the sales packets on Monday, January 29th, and continue selling the $15 discount cards until Monday, February 12th. Proceeds from the sale of Major Saver cards directly support the participating schools and the Lees Summit Educational Foundation Inc.
The 2018 participating restaurants/establishments include: The Exit Room, Price Chopper, 54th Street, GOT ART Gallery on Third, Main Slice, Houlihan’s, Schlotzsky’s, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, Paradise Park, Wally’s, Pizza Shoppe, Llywelyn’s Pub, Goodcents, Summit Grill and Bar, Hardee’s, Westside Grill and Bar, IHOP, SPIN! Pizza, Canoe Club, Habanero’s, and Papa John’s.
Major Saver cards can be purchased via cash, check or online at www.majorsaver.com. The online sale can be credited back to a particular student and school. All cards purchased online will be mailed directly to the customer.
Major Saver is excited to roll out a new feature this year making online sales easier for friends and family! On our homepage you are able to enter your student’s information to create a CUSTOM LINK for your child that can be shared via social media or email. This link will automatically credit the online sale to your student when friends and family use the link to make their purchase!
Major Saver cards can also be purchased, and credited to a student, through the Major Saver App. Once the free app is downloaded to an Android or iOS device, buyers can choose a Major Saver card through the “buy cards” tab on the app. Once the buyer completes the transaction the offers will be stored in the Major Saver App. Buyers can then redeem offers directly from the app and do not need a physical card.
Major Saver stresses safe selling and discourages door to door campaigning. The company encourages students to sell to family members, church patrons, neighbors, other adults the family may know; and to always make sure their parents are involved.
Please consider purchasing one or more Major Saver cards this year to help benefit of the Lees Summit Educational Foundation, Inc. and participating schools.
Thank you for your support!
