A Message From Global Studies
Hola!
We are continuing to have a great time learning Spanish while singing, dancing, collaborating, creating and playing in Global Studies!
Between May 6th and May 24th, the students will have an opportunity to sample roasted plantain chips during one of their Global Studies classes. The ingredients in the chips are plantains, sunflower oil, and salt. Pictures and additional information about the product can be found below. If you do not want your child to sample the plantain chips, please complete the Participation OPT-OUT form and respond by May 3, 2019.
¡Gracias!

Reusable containers
Hi TCE Cardinals!
Did you know that bringing reusable containers for your daily snack and in your lunchbox is better than using plastic baggies? We have learned that plastic
baggies take 500-1,000 years to decompose. We are recycling the plastic baggies, but bringing a reusable container is better for the Earth! Try to use more
reusable containers than plastic baggies.
Thank you for helping us change the world by reducing one plastic baggie at a time!

We are Learning
Reading
Writing
We started the week learning about irregular verbs. These verbs are different from regular verbs because when making these verbs in past tense you can't just add "ed". Often times with irregular verbs, you have to change the entire word. Some examples of irregular verbs are : go, eat, sleep, and buy. We ended the week writing poetry. We learned that poems are a beautiful way to express your feelings or describe an object. We learned that poems can be about anything. We immersed ourselves in poems written about different things: family, weather, nature, school, and animals. We will continue to study poetry next week.
