Opening of School Celebration

Last week we held our annual Opening of School Celebration. During our celebration, we introduced the theme for the year, "Make the Connection." Students had a chance to reconnect and get to know new classmates. Students participated in team building opportunities for homerooms and also by grade level. We also spent time introducing the various clubs and activities available at Murray Avenue this school year. Below are some pictures of some of the events that took place during our celebration.

Activities Being Offered At Murray Avenue This Year

During our opening of school celebration, our students learned about different activities and clubs that will be offered this year.

Here is a list of our activities, their sponsors, and when they begin: MA Activities

Our students viewed "commercials" for activities. If you would like more information about our activities, you can view the presentation. Each slide has a narrative. Please view the slide show in "present" mode and advance the slides to hear our sponsors explain their activities: MA Activity Commercials

New to Murray Avenue This Year

MA Cross Country Club

Starting this fall, there will be a great opportunity for students to get involved in a new sport. Former Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach at Lower Moreland High School, Mrs. Mary Esposito, will be kick-starting the Murray Avenue Cross Country Club! This club is open to all Murray Avenue students. No previous experience is required. All students will need is a good pair of running sneakers and a positive attitude! Anyone interested in participating in this club should register with FamilyID on the Lower Moreland Athletics website, just like they would for any other sport. For more information about this new club, please contact Coach Esposito at mesposito@lmtsd.org.

Electronic Submission of Absence Notes

Beginning this year, the district will be accepting electronic submission of absence notes (Blue Cards). Our hope is that this convenient method will become the primary method for submitting excuse notes for absences. For absences requiring a doctor's note, the doctor's note will still need to be submitted to the office. We are hoping this online submission process will make this more timely and convenient for families. The online form can be found in the Announcement section of our school's website.
