Free & Reduced Lunch Applications
It is important to have the most accurate numbers that reflects our community. The data collected determines eligibility for meal services and snacks for larger populations in the school, it impacts the amount of Federal money that we may be eligible for, it influences our chances of receiving local and regional grants, and more.
Please, even if you do now think you will qualify, take some time to fill out the application and return it to Marilyn Arvin, our School Lunch Program Director. If you have any questions, please email marilyn@cascadeschools.org.
Ski & Snowboard Club Launch
Cascade Schools is gearing up to organize a Ski & Snowboard Club! This club will be organized this spring to be ready for next school year. All students grades 4th - 12th will be eligible to join the club. Below is a survey we would like you to fill out so we can plan for all who are interested. Please fill it out as if there are no obstacles in your way for being a part of the club. More information will be sent out beginning in March after we are able to view the survey results.
This club will be such a great addition to our school! Mrs. Gallas has volunteered to be the club advisor. We are so grateful for her support for this program! Mrs. Kristina Rowley will be her co-advisor. Please reach out to either of us if you have any questions.

Icelandic Prevention Approach (IPA) Student Survey
The West Central Mountains Youth Advocacy Coalition (YAC) recently received a grant to introduce local communities to the Iceland Prevention Approach (IPA), a program developed to reduce drug and alcohol use and promote better mental and physical health in youth. The IPA is a highly effective community-based approach that is well-suited to rural areas like ours. When implemented in Iceland, the percent of youth who reported being drunk in the past month decreased from 42% to 28% in just 5 years and to 7% in 12 years. It also reduced smoking and marijuana use.
This will be a long-term regional effort with the communities coming together to effectively address the needs of each community. The schools are a critical component of this model as the approach relies on survey data collected by the schools.
Our High School aged students will be taking this survey on Friday, March 19.
Have you ever considered being a substitute teacher?
We have a great group of substitute teachers at the moment and we recognize that subs are the reason why we can keep our doors open and our kids learning throughout a school year.
